HONOLULU — Spring 2024 Hawaii Tech Days, hosted by the University of Hawaii and the Hawaii Chamber of Commerce, aims to connect students and job seekers with local technology companies to encourage networking and exploring the variety of career options available. A series of free events aimed at
The purpose of the event, which began in February and continues through the end of April, is to strengthen Hawaii’s skilled IT workforce and increase demand for local jobs in the technology industry.
“These events provide students, educators, and others with a valuable opportunity to learn from and engage with IT employers,” Alan Ito said in a news release. Mr. Ito is responsible for his IT talent development and regulatory policy at UH.
“We are investing in collaboration within the IT industry and workforce development initiatives that will grow our local skilled IT workforce and provide teachers with the knowledge to understand what opportunities are available to their students. We appreciate their commitment to this,” said Mr. Ito.
In addition to California State University and the Chamber of Commerce, partners include the IT Sector Partnership, Hawaii CIO Council, Cyber Hawaii, Hawaii Defense Alliance, Thrive HI, Pacific Asia Entrepreneurship Center, and the Association for Computing Machinery Student Chapter.
