Addressing journalists at the university premises in Agwada, Professor Bala spoke about the program and vision behind Nigeria’s first indigenous private university. He emphasized that the University of Phoenix is ​​off to a promising start with state-of-the-art facilities.

Professor Bala previously served as Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Minna and is the pioneering director of this unique institution. He explained that the University of Phoenix is ​​established to equip graduates with valuable skills to contribute to the Nigerian economy and thrive as global players in the evolving socio-economic landscape.

To achieve this objective and enhance the degree with practical skills, the university boasts a state-of-the-art robotics laboratory that is unrivaled in the country.

“This center is on track to become a vibrant ecosystem that fosters research and development expertise in robotics, AI, Internet of Things and business innovation,” Professor Bala elaborated.

The lab currently houses five units: robotics and drone hardware and software, virtual and augmented reality, and 3D printing. These facilities cater to students’ creativity in building robots and drones, while virtual reality units provide learning opportunities beyond students’ fields of study through real-time demonstrations from remote locations around the world.
