Ah, it’s the end of the year again. I barely noticed. Now that we’re in December, it’s time to start looking back at our favorite gadgets of 2023.
From cell phones to Windows handhelds to follow-ups on your favorite tech products, it’s been another year full of gadgets. This list can only contain a large number of favorites.
So without further procrastination, here are our favorite tech gadgets of the year. If you’re interested in what we loved in 2022, go here.
Logitech G Pro Series

Logitech has long been my favorite PC peripheral manufacturer, and I’ve used their “G” series of devices for years, but this year the company introduced their flagship “G PRO” keyboard, mouse, and We have released an updated version of the keyboard. Headsets – I love each of these devices. While it doesn’t look as flashy as many gaming accessories, it feels very nice to use, with clicky and satisfying switches and a great sound setup on the headphones. Also available in bright pink.
Xbox Series

I’ve never owned an Xbox before, but I was sent one earlier this year for benchmarking purposes (to compare it to laptops and computers commonly used for testing). Most of my gaming is still done on my gaming PC, but I’m very impressed with the cross-device functionality between the Xbox PC Launcher and Xbox console.my forza motorsport For example, if you close a game on your PC and start it on your Series X, all your save data will be saved. I often go back and forth as I transition from gaming at my desk to gaming on my couch. Also, Game Pass is still a great deal for him in 2023, and the Xbox Series X has allowed him to take full advantage of it.
Google Pixel 8 Pro

Google smartphones have been a favorite at Gizmodo Australia for years, and just as we included the Pixel 7 Pro on last year’s list (twice!), we also included the Google Pixel 8 Pro as one of our favorite smartphones this year. i’m back. We liked the changes Google made to the display, switching to flat over waterfall. We also liked the various new camera features. This is a strong competitor to the best devices from Apple and Samsung.
Apple AirPods Pro (2nd generation)

I didn’t expect there to be such a big difference between the generations, but the AirPods Pro 2nd generation offer a significant improvement in sound quality and ANC. I tried something new this year and used them as earplugs at a live concert, and I was seriously impressed by how well they filtered sound without sacrificing the quality of the music.

Although it was just a technical demonstration, I was surprised at how well it turned out. I literally felt a butterfly land on my finger. It’s not a must-have gadget that people need, and it’s not the next iPhone, but it’s actually pretty cool to use as a portable workstation or watch movies on a plane every time it’s released. It will be.

RODE Wireless GO II

It’s a great wireless microphone kit, but there are still some issues that need to be addressed. Beautiful sound quality, supreme ease of use, and strong software support justify the very high price tag of $400. Unfortunately, it has an incredibly short battery life of 40 minutes and a boxy, decidedly unmic-like design. There’s a reason TikTok creators are rushing to buy it, and I hope RODE irons out its weaknesses with the third revision.
Google Pixel 7a

Google’s flagship phone this year was the Pixel 8 Pro, and while it’s a great phone in many ways (minus that weird thermometer feature), in terms of favorite gadgets, the Pixel 7a is better. I think it’s excellent. why? That’s because it encapsulates the essence of what makes Pixel smartphones great, while being noticeably cheaper. You don’t get all the trimmings and special features, but you get more than enough. Given how mature the mobile phone market is, it’s better to have a phone that’s suitable for more people than to slightly increase the megapixel count on a phone or to include a new NPU. But it’s exciting for me. Honorable mentions: Galaxy Z Fold 5 (love you big foldables), HyperX Cloud III headphones (so comfortable, use them every day), and of course the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (hey, my favorite gadget of 2023! (Oh, 2023? Still… it’s majestic and deserves to win every year anyway).
