A high-tech gadget that promises to cook and mix drinks for us was unveiled at CES 2024

Forget about slaving over a hot stove or spending hours honing your cocktail-making skills. The future of food is here, filled with robots, AI, and other high-tech gadgets that are expected to do all the work for us.

CES 2024, the Consumer Technology Association’s annual trade show, showcased a slew of innovative new products designed to make life easier in the kitchen. Below are some highlights.

GE Profile Smart Indoor Smoker: This $1,000 smoker is perfect for city dwellers who want to enjoy the flavor of smoked food without the hassle of a traditional smoker. It’s about the size of a toaster oven and can hold one brisket cut in half, 40 chicken wings, or three racks of ribs. It uses wood pellets to achieve the smoky flavor, but its technology traps the smoke inside, making it ideal for apartments and other indoor spaces.

Brisk It NeoSear Grill: This smart grill uses generative AI technology to take the guesswork out of your barbecue. You can ask your grill questions like, “What seasonings should I add to make my chicken skewers spicy?” or “How do I cook a steak medium-rare?” and then the instructions are given. The grill automatically adjusts cooking settings to ensure your food is cooked to perfection. NeoSear is not yet available for purchase, but is expected to cost around $2,000.

Cold snap ice cream machine: This Keurig-like machine lets you whip up ice cream in just two minutes. Choose from a variety of flavors such as salted caramel or coffee, pop the pod into the machine, and your cold treat will be served to you in minutes. ColdSnap can also make frozen lattes, boozy ice cream, and protein shakes.

Chef AI Air Fryer: This air fryer uses artificial intelligence to detect the type of food you’re cooking and adjust settings accordingly. No more fiddling with knobs and dials. The Chef AI Air Fryer will be available for purchase later this year for about $250.

Bartesian Premier Cocktail Machine: This appliance takes the guesswork out of bartending. Choose from 60 recipes, pop your cocktail capsule into the machine, and you’ll have a perfectly mixed drink in seconds. Bartesian Premier retails for $369 and is expected to be available later this year.

Expanding

iGulu beer brewing machine: You can easily brew beer at home with this machine. Simply pour your pre-mixed recipe into the machine’s keg, add water and scan the sticker that comes with your beer mix. Within 9 to 13 days, you’ll have a gallon of homebrewed beer.

Artly Coffee Barista Bot: A robot barista that makes your favorite coffee drink just the way you like it. It mimics the way human baristas prepare drinks, from the way they pack coffee grounds into filters to the way they froth milk and pour latte art. The Artly Coffee bot is currently operating at his 10 locations in the Pacific Northwest and New York City.

These are just a few of the many new and innovative kitchen gadgets on display at CES 2024.
