GitLab partners with Tech Data to strengthen DevOps security

Leading DevOps platform vendor GitLab has significantly strengthened its channel ambitions across APAC with the appointment of Tech Data as its regional distributor. Under the agreement, Tech Data will provide GitLab’s DevSecOps platform to Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, India, and Japan.

“Today, the growing need for faster software development and relatively easy upgrades to existing deployments has led to increased focus on businesses adopting lean and agile practices to rapidly deliver IT services. ,” said Bennett Wong of Tech Data Asia. Wong and Tech Data forecast the APAC market growth rate to be 26.3% from 2021 to 2030.

Boost MSP performance across APAC

GitLab has expanded its channel play in the APAC region since launching a new global partner program in 2020 and appointing Michelle Hodges as vice president of global channels.

According to Dirk de Vos, director of APAC channels and strategic alliances at GitLab, this investment in Tech Data is designed to help the company drive its expertise across the APAC region.

“We are looking to add to the GitLab partner program across Asia Pacific, and the additional expertise that Tech Data can provide will be included in the company’s Centers of Excellence as well as support in the region. I’m looking forward to that,” he said.

GitLab has a Channel Services Partner Program as part of its partner program. In the statement, the company said it “recognizes the critical role our partners play in delivering value and service to our mutual customers.” MSPs serving GitLab customers have a specific set of certifications and services for enablement, training, and incentives.

Security is a top priority in DevOps environments, and the company expects its partners to leverage Tech Data as an additional resource in this area.
