Organizations are leveraging Zero Trust to strengthen enterprise safety, security, and reliability across their IT and operational technology (OT) environments.

Xage partnered with Takepoint Research to survey more than 250 senior cybersecurity leaders across critical infrastructure organizations, energy, utilities, transportation, oil & gas, and manufacturing. Data was collected from December 2023 to February 2024. Key findings of the report include:

  • Most organizations have adopted Zero Trust principles – 72% have begun adopting Zero Trust principles, and 38% of organizations have established, implemented, and optimized Zero Trust management measures.

  • Organizations are concerned about data sharing – 78% express concerns or serious concerns about data sharing. Ensuring the security of data and protecting it from unauthorized access and tampering is a top concern for 55% of respondents.

  • Respondents’ top three challenges when it comes to securing their OT environment IT/OT consolidation (77%), ransomware threat protection (76%), and remote access modernization (55%).

  • Industries are embracing transformation at varying rates – Manufacturing takes the lead; 90% We agree that the integration of IT/OT and digital transformation is the path to progress. But the oil and gas deal lags at 35%.
